            On the Vietnamese new year of __________________, the war took a turn for the worse.  The Vietcong launched an overwhelming offensive on __________________ towns and cities as well as well as __________________ U.S. air bases (Map and diagram on page 955).  Even though the Vietcong lost 32,000 and America and the ARVN only lost 3000, it shattered American __________________ in the war effort.  The Vietcong used __________________ to hide weapons in as well as Vietcong agents hiding among __________________.  Americans did not know how to fight this kind of war.  In __________________, Americans slaughtered women and children.  They claimed they were following __________________, but 25 American soldiers were still charged with some degree of responsibility to the war crimes.
            America needed a change.  __________________  announced that he would not run for President again.  In 1968, former Vice President, Richard Nixon was elected President.  His gradual removal of U.S. troops was called __________________.  In 1968, America had an all-time high __________________ troops in Vietnam.  By 1972, less than __________________ remained (Graph on page 949). In __________________ the US agreed to an __________________.  America allowed North Vietnamese troops to remain in South Vietnam, but Nixon said the U.S. would respond with “__________________” if there was further violent conflict.  North Vietnam fully subdued and controlled Saigon by 1975 anyway.  The U.S. did not retaliate.  Saigon is called __________________ today, which reminds everyone of the loss!  Vietnam still has a __________________ government today due to this war.  The war left __________________ Americans dead and __________________ wounded.  Despite the Vietnamese losing over __________________ men, many say that they won the war or at least gained more from it!
